Librarian III - Assistant Library Director
The Keene Public Library seeks an experienced professional to work closely with the Library Director and a service-oriented staff in a vibrant downtown area where the Library is a highly valued community resource. It is an exciting time to join the Keene Public Library with renovations that will enhance services currently being offered, transforming the library into a center of learning, and community engagement. This position will assist the Library Director in long range planning, goal setting, and policy development, as well as recruitment, selection, hiring, training and evaluation of employees and volunteers. It provides daily operational support to the Library staff and assumes the duties of the Library Director in her absence. This position will work closely with the Head of Youth and Community Services in developing opportunities for creativity and collaboration and to support the Library's twenty-first century mission. Candidates should have proven experience and knowledge of library operations, including policies and procedures development, program coordination, and budget preparation and evaluation. A Master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited institution is required, plus five years related experience, including supervisory experience.
