Position is located 20 Park St, NH State Library, Concord, NH   

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, New Hampshire State Library has a full time vacancy for a Librarian III. 

Summary:
To manage provision of consulting services on the range of library issues, including family literacy, to public and school libraries in New Hampshire.

Responsibilities:
Coordinates statewide library literacy initiatives and partners with other literacy agencies to provide programs and services for public libraries.
Provides advisory services to librarians in areas of programming, services and collection development .

Manages grant programs that support statewide literacy services in public libraries.
Serves on state, regional and national committees that foster development of library services to public and school libraries.
Develops online and print resources that support youth services in public and school libraries and contributes to the State
Library’s website in the area of library development.

Researches state and national trends and develops programs for libraries that reflect these trends.
Develops and conducts workshops and training opportunities for librarians providing youth services
Develops and conducts workshops and training opportunities for librarians providing library services for older adults.
 
Education:  Master's degree in library science from a college or university accredited by the American Library Association.  Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience:  Five years' experience as a professional librarian including three years in a supervisory or administrative capacity with a public, special, state, college or university library.  Additional years of related work experience may not be substituted for the formal education required by this class specification.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to work well with public.
