The State of New Hampshire, Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, NH State Library, has a part-time vacancy for a Library Delivery Driver to drive two shifts per week with an opportunity to fill in additional shifts as needed.
Summary:
Operates
as a part-time delivery driver working two scheduled days per week and
filling as needed, delivering and picking up book and non-book materials
from libraries throughout the state for the Department of Natural &
Cultural Resources, New Hampshire State Library.
Responsibilities:
Operates delivery vehicle to ensure delivery and return of materials throughout the state in a safe manner, without distractions, following the rules of the road, including hands free driving.
Maintains vehicles for use by self and other staff to ensure cleanliness, appearance and availability on a daily basis.
Delivers and receives book and non-book material in bins, cartons, boxes and bags, weighing up to 50 lbs. at scheduled stops to provide interlibrary loan services to libraries.
Provides records of materials transported as required. Maintains vehicular records and submits to the fleet manager as directed.
As a representative of the New Hampshire State Library, practices good customer skills when providing van delivery service to libraries or when coming in contact with the general public.
Provides other deliveries for the agency as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency credential.
Experience: One year of experience in public contact work, with some experience operating a vehicle similar to library vans.
License/Certification: Must possess a valid operator’s license appropriate for the operation of a library van.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must successfully complete a defensive driving course during probationary period.
