Research Impact & Open Scholarship Librarian, Dartmouth Libraries, Hanover, New Hampshire

Dartmouth Libraries is seeking a Research Impact & Open Scholarship Librarian to join our Research Facilitation department. This role will provide expert guidance and strategic support to help Dartmouth researchers navigate evolving funder public access requirements, publish their work effectively, and understand the reach and impact of their scholarship. We are looking for a collaborative professional who brings depth in scholarly communications, copyright, author rights, and open scholarship practices, and who is energized by working directly with faculty, students, and staff across a teaching and research-intensive institution.
 
The Research Impact & Open Scholarship Librarian will lead and coordinate a program of services, education, and outreach that supports research dissemination and visibility across the full research lifecycle. This role connects public access requirements compliance to the broader goals of effective dissemination and demonstrated impact of Dartmouth scholarship, advising on open access publishing, bibliometrics and research output data, persistent identifiers, and emerging scholarly infrastructure, while contributing to institutional guidance and policy conversations on access, rights, and responsible metrics. The position includes supervisory responsibility, with opportunities to recruit, mentor, and develop staff, and involves analytical work with bibliometric and research output data to help contextualize impact and inform dissemination strategies.

Minimum requirements (training, skills, education, experience):

Library Technician, Baker Berry Library, Hanover, NH

Dartmouth Libraries is undertaking a year-long collection management project involving the identification, retrieval, and processing of volumes for deaccession and relocation. They are seeking a temporary staff member to assist in this project.

This position requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work efficiently in a physical, hands-on environment. It will be in-person at the Library Collections and Services Facility, 6025 Baker Library, Hanover, NH 03755.

Staff will be required to retrieve titles from Dartmouth-supplied pick lists in off-site, high-density shelving using a fork/lift or order picker. They will then double-check each item retrieved against a pick list to confirm that barcodes and titles match. They will be expected to flag and document misclassified items and other inconsistencies. Once the items have been confirmed for deaccessioning, the staff will be required to scan them for deaccession and get them ready for donation or recycling and remove them from the premises in conjunction with Dartmouth facilities staff. Staff will also be required to provide monthly statistics reports about the number of titles processed, number of discrepancies and problems identified and the number of items identified for donation.

Minimum requirements (training, skills, education, experience):

Experience working in a library environment.
Functional knowledge of the Library of Congress Classification system.
A high attention to detail.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and efficiently.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
The ability to lift up 50 lbs throughout the day.
Comfortable working at heights up to 30 feet and in temperatures ranging from 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit.
Forklift certification.
The ability to communicate in a professional and timely manner.

Health Sciences Librarian, Medical Education Lead, Dartmouth Health Sciences & Biomedical Libraries, Hanover, NH

Research Data Librarian, Dartmouth Libraries, Hanover, NH

Dartmouth Libraries is seeking a Research Data Librarian to join our growing Research Facilitation department. This position plays a pivotal role in supporting data-intensive research and teaching across Dartmouth, with a primary focus on economics and business support.  We are looking for a collaborative, thoughtful professional who values inclusivity, diverse perspectives, and is passionate about advancing data-driven research and learning.

As the liaison to the economics department, the Research Data Librarian will provide expert research support, develop and lead curricular and co-curricular educational initiatives, and guide data-related collection strategies tailored to Dartmouth's evolving needs. Additionally, the Research Data Librarian will collaborate with other data-intensive disciplines, programs, and centers across campus, including dedicating 25% of its time to supporting the Tuck School of Business.  This role also  involves developing, delivering, and assessing impactful research services and contributing to the broader implementation of research data support at Dartmouth.

Exhibits and Graphic Arts Designer, Dartmouth Libraries, Hanover, NH

 The Exhibits and Graphic Arts Designer supports the Dartmouth Libraries’ exhibits program by designing and installing exhibits in Baker-Berry Library that feature collections and resources related to the intellectual work of the Dartmouth community. The designer collaborates with exhibit curators and library colleagues to produce physical and online exhibits. The designer crafts visual elements that enhance exhibit content and effect while ensuring consistency across all visual designs to maintain the Libraries’ visual identity. The designer also prepares marketing and promotional materials, tailoring visuals for digital platforms, print, and multimedia projects. (part-time, 20 hours per week)
This position is Hybrid work location eligible.

• Two years of graphic design experience creating print and digital products.
• Knowledge of and proficiency in a range of design and publishing software, such as Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe Creative Suite.

 We are looking for an engaged information professional to join our team of research & learning librarians supporting the Arts & Sciences at Dartmouth. The position will have primary responsibility for liaising with STEM disciplines including Earth Sciences, Environmental Studies, Mathematics, and Physics & Astronomy Departments. The position is a part of a group of four STEM librarians.

As a liaison librarian to academic departments, you will provide research support to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and researchers; develop information literacy opportunities both within and outside the curriculum; and manage the library’s print and online collections in your subject areas. You will build and foster positive relationships with departmental faculty and staff, and work to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion goals through collections, programs, and services, in alignment with the goals of the institution and the broader Humanities community.
