Collections Strategist and Acquisitions Manager, Dartmouth Libraries, Hanover, New Hampshire

Dartmouth Libraries, a vital partner across Dartmouth’s research enterprise and teaching mission, welcomes applications for the position of Collections Strategist and Acquisitions Manager.

This position is both strategic and operational, collaborating with department leadership to help shape the future of the team, its systems, and workflows by remaining adaptive to a dynamic scholarly landscape.
 
The Collections Strategist and Acquisitions Manager will advance Dartmouth Libraries’ goal to enhance discovery and access to world-class collections and content across evolving platforms. You’ll collaborate with colleagues to position the Libraries in accelerating research by sharing in-depth knowledge of Dartmouth Libraries’ scholarly resources and their ongoing management. This position plays an important role in advising and assisting colleagues in strategic and cost-effective ways to acquire and maintain all Dartmouth Libraries collection-related resources. 
 
Reporting to the Head of Acquisitions and Collection Development, you will support the leadership of your team, strategizing and implementing library-wide collections licensing and lifecycle for all scholarly formats, contributing to open and transformative access priorities, and applying data-informed decision-making for collections building.

Minimum requirements (training, skills, education, experience):
-Master’s degree in Library or Information Science, or equivalent advanced degree from an American Library Association (A.L.A.)-accredited or equivalent accrediting body

-Five plus years of progressively responsible acquisitions and/or electronic resources experience

-Three years of supervisory experience with the ability to lead staff, develop, and manage efficient workflows/processes in support of strategic goals

-Excellent oral and written communication skills through a variety of communication methods

-Proven ability to adapt to a changing information landscape, manage competing priorities, and navigate ambiguity

-Demonstrated commitment to professional development/achievement

Hiring Wage Range:
Hiring range: $75,700  – $94,700
