Library Director, George H. and Ella M. Rodgers Memorial Library, Hudson, New Hampshire

Job Description:
The Library Director is responsible for the smooth operation of the George H. and Ella M. Rodgers Memorial Library, hereinafter R.M.L., and for providing a safe, comfortable, welcoming, and secure environment for staff and patrons, in keeping with R.M.L.’s mission, policies, and established procedures.

Provide leadership, direction, and coordination according to policies and bylaws established by the Library Board of Trustees, hereinafter B.O.T., and per R.S.A. 202-A:16.
Supervise all full-time and part-time Library staff.
Make recommendations to the Board regarding staff hiring, promotion, and disciplinary measures per R.S.A. 202-A:11 V and R.S.A. 202-A:17. May delegate daily supervision, scheduling, and training of employees to designated supervisors.
Maintain all necessary documentation of staff management functions.
Serves as a Director on the GMILCS Board and as an Officer of the Board/Member of the GMILCS Executive Board as required by the GMILCS Bylaws.

This is a full-time salary position. The Library Director works a flexible schedule, including, but not limited to, regular daytime business hours. This schedule will be adjusted as necessary to accommodate evening/weekend events, commitments to local, state, or national professional associations as listed below, and other activities. 

Minimum requirements (training, skills, education, experience): 
Master's Degree in Library Science (M.L.S. or M.L.I.S.) from an American Library Association-accredited school is preferred.

Six years of progressively responsible professional library experience, including three years in a supervisory or administrative capacity, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Head of Information Technology/Technical Services (IT/TS), Rodgers Memorial Library, Hudson, NH

Rodgers Memorial Library in Hudson, NH, seeks applications from patron-centered and collaborative candidates for our Head of Information Technology/Technical Services (IT/TS) position. The Head of IT/TS will report to the Library Director, supervise the IT/TS Department, and provide access to our digital resources, including the library’s web presence. We are looking for someone with a passion for the local community and making technology accessible to everyone.

In this role, you will:
Provide IT and computer support to library staff and patrons
Oversee all library technical services
Be responsible for the design and production of library marketing and informational materials
Shape the future of the library by working with the Library Director regarding e-Resources and emerging technologies

Qualifications:

An ALA/Master's of Library Information Science Degree is preferred. However, we will consider a Bachelor’s degree equivalent with extensive experience in a public library IT environment.
1-3 years supervisory experience.
Be current on library technology trends, including cloud computing, software, hardware, cybersecurity, and AI.
Familiarity with web-based LMS/ILS systems, including circulation, cataloging, acquisitions, processing, and reports.
Working knowledge of networking and hardware, including virtual servers, staff and patron computers, printers, and laptops
Working knowledge of tasks related to library technical services, including acquisitions, cataloging, and receiving
Knowledge of and ability to use Google Workspace
Working familiarity with procedural and non-procedural programming, including Python and SQL
Working familiarity with various operating systems (OS), including Windows, iOS, and Linux

Starting salary range of $48,880 to $52,000 based on experience.

This is a full-time 40-hour/week position that may require some evenings and weekends, as well as assisting in desk shifts.
