The Laconia Public Library is looking to hire a creative and organized individual to promote library services and programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
· Write and distribute press releases, brochures, and wayfinding materials. Produce monthly print and electronic newsletters. Create digital and print graphic design. Post to multiple social media platforms with short-form videos, scheduled content, and informal posts. Update library website using CivicPlus platform. Liaise with community businesses and City departments for marketing purposes. Explore and develop additional avenues for publicity.
· Coordinate library volunteer schedule and duties.
· Administer library pass program to area attractions.
· Staff adult and children’s circulation desks.
· Participate in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for fellow staff and library users.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Associate’s Degree and two years’ experience in library services; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides similar knowledge, ability, and skills.
· Proficiency with current technology including image and video editing software such as Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Photoshop Elements, and Canva Pro. Willingness and ability to adapt to evolving technological environments.
· Commitment to providing outstanding customer service, at times under trying circumstances.
· Ability to analyze situations accurately and to make decisions in accordance with library policies and procedures.
· Must be able to work independently and cooperatively as a team member.
SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, including one evening per week and a Saturday rotation.
COMPENSATION:
$20.95 - $22.01 per hour depending upon qualifications and an excellent benefits package including participation in the NH Retirement System.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to push or pull carts, do a moderate amount of bending, squatting, lifting (up to 40 pounds), stretching, and standing for extended periods of time.
