Librarian, part time - George H. Stowell Free Library, Cornish, New Hampshire

The George H. Stowell Free Library in Cornish, New Hampshire has an opening for a part time Librarian.

The librarian will assume responsibility for library management, including:
* creating a welcoming environment for all library patrons
* developing and maintaining library collections and services,
* managing the Koha automated cataloging system
* supervising and scheduling the library aides and volunteers
* preparing book and video orders
* processing materials, and ordering interlibrary loan materials
* creating and administering programs for children and adults

Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree (preferred: MLS/MLIS degree received or in progress)
* Two years experience working in a library or extensive experience using in a library
* Demonstrated leadership with either employees or volunteers
* Demonstrated innovation/imagination in project or program development
* Strong public service orientation, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Knowledge of current resources, programs, and services available to libraries
* Management of people and programs
* Familiarity with multiple software applications (e.g., Canva, MailChimp, Google suite) and mobile devices (e.g., smartphones, e-readers, tablets)
* Preferred: ability to configure, use and maintain an Integrated Library System and online catalog (e.g. KOHA)

Hiring wage range:

$20.00 per hour

Other Considerations/Requirements:

* Ability to engage with patrons, staff, and volunteers of different ages and backgrounds.
* Ability to communicate and advocate for the library with the community and elected Town leadership, including the Board of Trustees.
