The Pease Public Library in Plymouth, NH is seeking a self-motivated team player for a seasonal position of Circulation Assistant. The ideal candidate will have some college education and can demonstrate flexibility and good judgment under varying circumstances. The ability to multi-task and provide quality customer service is essential. Must be a community-oriented, hands-on worker. This is a 14-week seasonal employment starting July 1, 2025 going through the end of August, with the flexibility to continue in late-December through end of January. Saturday hours on a rotating schedule are required.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work routine circulation desk shifts *
Educate patrons about electronic resources, such as NH Downloadable Books
Other duties as assigned
*Routine Circulation Desk Shifts tend to include:
Checking materials in and out
Registering new library patrons
Answering the telephone
Organizing reserve materials
Scheduling meeting spaces using Google calendar
Scheduling computer usage and answering basic patron computer questions
Assisting patrons with tech questions
Minimum requirements (training, skills, education, experience):
Candidates must have graduated from high school or equivalent. Some college preferred. Previous library experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential. Knowledge of Google calendar and Facebook required. Must enjoy working with the public and as part of a team.
