Library Assistant, Youth Services, Goffstown Public Library, Goffstown, NH

The Goffstown Public Library is seeking a Library Assistant for a 25-hour/week position that includes evenings and Saturdays. The Library Assistant—Youth Services is responsible for assisting the Head of Youth Services with planning and implementing programming for youth through high school age. Provides reader’s advisory and reference services to youth and their parents/guardians, and participates with local youth-oriented groups.  This position requires significant interaction with the public. Hiring wage: $22.24/hour.

Bachelor's or Associate's degree or equivalent college courses required; may be waived by Library Director. Related public service experience required, preferably in a public library setting. Experience working with children from birth through high school age preferred. 

Non-Saturday schedule (subject to change):

Monday        9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday        3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday   9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Thursday      12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Friday           9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Saturday       OFF

Saturday week schedule (every third week - subject to change):

Monday        OFF
Tuesday        3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday   9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Thursday      12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Friday           9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Saturday       9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Benefits: Includes paid vacation and sick time after a 6-month trial period is successfully completed. Employees enjoy a schedule of paid holidays throughout the year. Annual pay increases based on performance and town operating budget approval.
