Job Description:
This full-time (40 hour) position works with the Programming and Marketing librarian to plan and implement adult programming that is responsive to community needs and helps us achieve our strategic goals. Participates in planning and implementing large programs and events for all ages. Has primary responsibility for managing meeting room reservations and managing exhibits in the gallery. The person in this position works regular shifts at a public service desk assisting customers in person, on the phone and via email.
Minimum requirements (training, skills, education, experience):
• Degree from a four-year accredited institution
• Demonstrated experience planning events and 1-2 years of experience working in a public library setting or similar combination of education and experience at a community-based organization
• Proficiency in the use of office productivity software and demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies
• Ability to engage well with members of the public, speak to large groups and communicate effectively and tactfully with diverse populations.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others
• Bilingual ability is preferred.
Hiring Wage Range:
Starting Salary: $53,115 - $55,821 Grade 4

Hours Worked: 40 hours/week - variable schedule includes evenings and weekends
