Youth Services/Teen Librarian, Wiggin Memorial Library, Stratham, NH

 

The Wiggin Memorial Library (Stratham, N.H.) is seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Youth Services/Teen Librarian who is a team player and intrepid teen wrangler.  If you love working with kids of all ages, and have a special affinity for tweens and teens, we want to hear from you!

 

The Youth Services team at our library has a passion for growing lifelong library users and engaging the whole family.  Programs and services are designed to make the library a fun and welcoming community center where everyone feels included.

 

The Youth Services Librarian will enjoy working with youth ages 0-18 and their families with a focus on teens/tweens.  This person will participate in all departmental activities from collection development and programming to outreach and customer service.  We need someone who has the experience to hit the ground running.

 

Our ideal candidate will have experience in providing friendly customer service, especially with children and families.  The person will also be organized, innovative, and up-to-speed on current library trends.  Tell us how you've built good relationships with colleagues, the public, schools, and community organizations.  Show us your successful programs and projects and tell us about your favorite.  Flexibility and a sense of humor are a must!

 

Qualifications:  

An  MLIS degree from an ALA accredited program is highly preferred along with related professional library experience; or any equivalent combination of education and library experience which demonstrates the requisite knowledge and skills.  Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.  Knowledge of children's developmental stages and strong technology skills are also a must.

 

Hiring salary range is $45,000 - $46,000 depending on qualifications.

Cataloger and Technical Services Librarian, Whipple Free Library, New Boston, NH

 

In anticipation of a retirement, we are looking for a detail-oriented cataloger to join our team. This position will begin mid-November. Do you have experience cataloging? Are you handy with spread sheets and technology? Do you enjoy learning and keeping up to date with new library technology? We invite you to apply for our Cataloger and Technical Services position at the Whipple Free Library. We are looking for someone reliable, who can work well with our current team, and who has meticulous attention to detail.

 

The ideal candidate has library experience with knowledge in cataloging, Marc records, Dewey decimal system, and LOC subject headings as well as experience with various library technology. This part time position has flexible scheduling options. You will be required to work on the circulation desk for 2-4 hours a week, including Saturdays in rotation.

 

Title: Cataloger and Technical Services (22 hours)

 

Hiring Wage: $19-$20 per hour

 

Benefits: Includes paid vacation and sick time on a prorated basis after a 6-month trial period is successfully completed. Paid holidays and personal days are also included.

 

Job Summary

 

The Cataloger and Technical Services Librarian catalogs and processes all library materials both new and by donations accurately and in a timely manner. The position requires the completion of statistical material from our ILS database, Apollo. This position requires knowledge of the library’s e-resources such as NH Downloadable books, e-readers and the ability to help patrons and staff with tech questions.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two years’ experience in library services; one year library cataloging experience; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience in the library field that provides similar knowledge, ability, and skills. Job Description:

Meredith Public Library, Meredith, NH seeks two part-time library aides for 15 hours each per week. These positions will include one Saturday per month and one evening per week.

$17.26-$21.56 per hour. High school diploma required. Previous library experience preferred. Experience working with older children a plus for one of the positions. The successful candidate must be computer literate. Job duties include circulation of materials, shelving items, and other odd jobs. This job will require frequent bending, lifting, kneeling, carrying, pushing and standing with very little sitting.
