Job Type: Part-time 25-30 hrs/week, Temporary
Purpose: This part-time position serves as manager of library operations while the Board of Trustees conducts a search for a permanent director.
Essential Functions:

· Oversee all aspects of library operations including collection management, program development, budget management, community relations, oversight of library building and grounds, and maintenance.
· Manage a staff of 7 employees including preparing for payroll and scheduling staff.
· Work closely with the Board of Trustees and attend monthly Trustee meetings.
· Represent the Library at monthly Hillstown Cooperative meetings.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree. Master's degree in Library Information Science preferred. Minimum of three years in a library supervisory role or other relevant experience.
Familiarity with current library software and technologies, as well as social media platforms. Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and be flexible. Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Physical Skills: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work at a desk; regularly convey information to employees and the public. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds, such as supplies, folders, and books. Certain tasks require the ability to view computer screens for extended periods of time.
Motor Skills: Position requires the application of basic motor skills for activities including but not limited to operating a personal computer, office equipment, word processing, pushing, pulling, or lifting office equipment, and the sorting of papers.
Visual Skills: Position requires the employee to constantly read documents, computer screens, and reports for understanding and analytical purposes. The employee is rarely required to determine color differences.
Supervision: Work is performed under the supervision of the Board of Library Trustees.
