George Holmes Bixby Memorial Library is on the lookout for an enthusiastic Library Director to become the heart of our library community. We need someone who can lead the way in daily operations, curate captivating collections, and connect with our wonderful community. If you have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in library science or at least 3 years of library experience, and fantastic supervisory skills, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
As our Library Director, you'll be the expert setting the standards. Your responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations, curating and maintaining our library collection, brainstorming and planning engaging programs for the community, skillfully managing the budget and resources, providing guidance and support to our fabulous library staff, embracing technology for both management and patron assistance, ensuring our library policies are well-orchestrated, collaborating closely with our Trustees, and building partnerships with local organizations. Oh, and don't forget to sprinkle in that extra touch of excellent customer service!

We're looking for someone with more than just skills – we want someone who can bring the library to life! Your organizational and leadership skills should be top-notch. Throw in excellent customer service and communication abilities, a flair for technology, a knack for community engagement, adaptability, problem-solving skills, collection development magic, promotion and outreach expertise, policy management finesse, and a talent for education and programming planning.

Education:
We are looking for candidates with a degree in library science or a related field (or equivalent experience). We are hoping to connect with someone with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in libraries, proven supervisory or managerial skills, a knack for small community library operations, and a solid understanding of library systems and technology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must because, after all, we're all about building connections.
Benefits:
Generous PTO policy along with reimbursement for conferences and continuous education
$22 to $30 per hour depending on experience
