Head of Acquisitions and Collection Development, Dartmouth Libraries, Hanover, NH

 

Reporting to the Associate Dean of Libraries, Collections & Content Strategies, the Head of Acquisitions and Collection Development leads the coordination of selecting, licensing, and collection analysis activities for the Dartmouth Libraries. Within the Libraries’ strategic framework, this role contributes to the implementation of collection development strategies with a growing emphasis on support for various models around open scholarship and emerging licensing models. This role engages in vendor negotiations for electronic resource licensing, approval plans, and analysis of collection use. As the department head, this role leads and coordinates a staff of 12, with five direct reports, working on collections, acquisitions, purchasing, and receiving.
