The University of New Hampshire Library (UNH Library) is seeking a collaborative colleague to join our team as Evening Information Services Specialist, (Library Services Specialist, Operating Staff, Grade 11 with a minimum/base hourly rate of $16.81 per hour). This position typically works Monday-Wednesday, 2pm-12:30am and Thursday 2:30pm-12:30am through the Fall and Spring semesters. The schedule for this position is driven by the academic calendar and hours change during semester breaks, J-Term, and summer session.
This role is responsible for a variety of duties that require a broad functional knowledge of library systems, standards, and policies of the Dimond Library Information Desk and library spaces to assist in maintaining an environment conducive to study and research. In accordance with established policies and procedures, this position circulates a variety of resources, registers borrowers, reconciles patron accounts, provides work direction to student employees, and prepares the library for closing. The position also reviews processes and updates process/procedure documentation within assigned areas of responsibility and assists with the production of social media and other promotional content, such as blogs, articles, and newsletter copy.
The UNH Library has a team-based organizational structure that relies on consultation and collaboration for successful daily operations and goal achievement. This role participates in Information Services, Communication and Outreach, and Facilities programs.
