Job Description:
The Nevins Library located in Methuen, MA is seeking an energetic, flexible, and enthusiastic person who enjoys working with the public, primarily adults. Situated near the New Hampshire border, the Library serves a diverse community of around 50,000 residents and is committed to offering inclusive, top-quality services.
Under the general supervision of the Head of Reference Services, this person will assist the team with assisting patrons from the Reference Desk, assisting with printing, shelving books as well as help maintain a neat, inviting public space. This role requires familiarity with current technologies to help patrons use library computers and peripheral devices such as printers, fax machines, scanners, and copiers.
This part-time position will include day and evening shifts, as well as rotating Saturdays
Hours: 20-24 hours per week
Closing Date: Open until filled

Requirements:
Qualifications
• At least one (1) year experience working with the public in a customer service role (i.e.: retail, hospitality, restaurant, etc.). Library experience preferred, but not required.
• Able to work with a diverse population, while respecting people of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds.
• Committed to excellent customer service, with the ability to multi-task and maintain composure in a busy environment.
• Familiarity with working in a technology-oriented environment.
• Strong teamwork, excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in a second language (especially Spanish) is preferred.
Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred

Salary:
$20-$21 per hour, commensurate with experience and education
