Library Assistant, Baker Free Library, Bow, NH

 The Baker Free Library is looking for a friendly, creative, customer-oriented individual to join our team! In this position, the full-time library assistant will be responsible for coordinating adult programs for the Bow community, contributing to collection development, and facilitating use of our busy public meeting spaces. They will also serve as a certified Passport Acceptance Agent.

 Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree is required, along with 1-2 years of public library experience. Priority will be given to applicants with public programming experience.

Technology, Equipment, and Devices
This position requires proficiency with computers and commonly used office software, library systems, multifunctional printers, and databases. This position requires the employee to troubleshoot general office equipment and other technologies, and to coordinate programs and meeting use through the library’s calendar software.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Provides exemplary customer service and supports the Library’s values and mission. Has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with people of all ages. Is able to foster and maintain working relationships with all members of the library team. Is able to work alone, under supervision, and as part of a team. Has a degree of comfort with computers, software and electronic resources.

Physical Requirements
This position requires the employee to regularly sit, stand, lift items, shift light furniture and move about the library. Off-site programming may also require additional movement.

A full benefits package including health care, dental coverage, and sick and annual leave accrual is provided, as well as enrollment in the state of New Hampshire’s retirement system.

$19.00 - $21.00/hour, depending upon qualifications.
