Library Director, Wilton Public and Gregg Free Library (WILTON, NH)
The Trustees of the Wilton Public and Gregg Free Library are seeking an energetic, creative individual with excellent interpersonal, leadership, and technical skills to join our library family in the key leadership role of Library Director. The Wilton Public and Gregg Free Library is the town library for Wilton, NH, a scenic southern NH town with a current population of about 3,800 residents. The library was designed by the Boston architectural firm of McLean & Wright and is a superb example of the "Neo-Classic” style. Completed in 1907, the library is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The library is the heartbeat of our friendly, active community and offers a welcoming space for patrons of all ages who are in search of a great book, an interesting movie, enriching and entertaining programs, or friendly conversation. We pride ourselves on being an integral community resource, with an active and highly engaged Friends of the Library group, strong community support, and a devoted Board of Trustees. The Library Director reports to the Board of Trustees (a self-perpetuating board with one elected member), and provides strong leadership to a dedicated library team. The Director performs professional and administrative duties across a full range of library services including personnel management, programming, budget preparation, collection development, community relations, and facilities management. The Director serves as the spokesperson for the library in the community and represents the library in interactions with town officials.
