Job Description:
The Blaisdell Memorial Library is looking for a Per Diem Library Assistant to be on-call for staff coverage when needed.
Up to 15 hours per week.
Assist patrons with checking in/out materials, renewing, items and managing accounts.
Keep our collection in order by shelving books and helping with displays.
Help with the processing of materials.
Provide friendly and helpful assistance to visitors, answering questions and directing them to resources.
Help with organizing and hosting library events and programs.
Assist users with basic computer and technology-related inquiries.
Minimum requirements (training, skills, education, experience):
BA/BS is required along with 1 year of library experience or a combination of a high school diploma and more than 1 year of library experience will be considered.
Passion for books, reading, and community engagement.
Excellent communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to organize effectively.
Basic computer skills including Google docs and Microsoft Word.
Availability to work when the library is open to the public, including Wednesday and Thursday nights and Saturdays.
Pay range:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour.

Hours of Operation
Tuesday: 10 am - 5 pm
Wednesday: 10 am - 8 pm
Thursday: 10 am - 8 pm
Friday: 10 am - 2 pm
Saturday: 10 am - 2 pm
