Job Description:
Responsibilities include:
Collection Management - assisting with maintaining the organization of library materials on the shelves and within the computer system.
Circulation Support - checking in/out items, managing reserves and assisting patrons with account inquiries. Ordering materials via interlibrary loan.
Reference Services - providing basic reference assistance to library users and helping them find relevant resources.
Administrative Tasks - help with recordkeeping, data entry and other administrative duties as needed.
Technology Support - assisting patrons with basic computer and technology-related inquiries.
Programming Support - assisting with library programs as needed.
Minimum requirements (training, skills, education, experience):
ALA-Accredited M.L.S. /M.L.I.S. Degree or related degree is preferred, but candidates with relevant experience in library operations will also be considered.
A strong enthusiasm for libraries, reading and community engagement.
Attention to detail and the ability to maintain an organized library environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills, friendly demeanor, and the ability to provide outstanding patron service.
Comfortable with Google docs, Microsoft Word products and the NHAIS Interlibrary Loan System. Experience with the Apollo cataloging system would be helpful.
Availability to work when the library is open to the public, including Wednesday and Thursday nights and Saturdays.
Must be able to frequently lift light and occasionally heavy objects.
Hiring Wage Range:
$17.50 - $20.00 per hour.
