Head of Collection Management & Preservation, Dartmouth Library, Hanover, (NH)

 

Dartmouth Library is seeking an innovative, strategic and inclusive leader to coordinate preservation, maintenance, and storage activities for Dartmouth Library’s collections. This is an exciting time for Dartmouth Library--we are completing construction of a collections services facility that will be a valuable tool in sustainably maintaining collections, developing shared practices and infrastructure for digital preservation in partnership with the Hood Museum, and bringing to life a new strategic direction The person in this role will leverage the expertise of staff to design and implement preservation policy and procedures in all physical and digital formats in alignment with best practices and institutional needs. In addition, this role will coordinate and oversee collection care and management projects across Dartmouth’s libraries to optimize access and use of materials. Initially, the role will focus on preservation and maintenance of our physical collections, with increasing involvement with digitization and digital preservation. We seek a candidate with preservation expertise, strong project management skills, and enthusiasm for aligning stakeholders across the Library around a shared vision for collection preservation and maintenance.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $99,000
