Job Description:

The New Ipswich Library Trustees are looking for a creative, dynamic and self-driven Library Director who believes in the potential of our small nonprofit library. Our free public library organization is uniquely managed and strongly connected to both our residents and the school district in New Ipswich, NH.
Founded as a 501c3 free public library in 1895 and nestled in a historic village, New Ipswich Library is a perfect launching or landing place for an ambitious professional new to library services or for the experienced leader looking for an even pace but never boring atmosphere.
If you enjoy assisting people of all ages with diverse interests and a desire for continuing education, then this is an exciting opportunity for you to consider.
Our Library Director will wear many hats but will be supported by a team of staff, volunteers and trustees with a desire to be a valued organization in town long into the future.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree preferred but not necessary; MLS from an ALA accredited program is ideal.
Three years of progressively responsible administrative experience, including a broad background in nonprofit management, administration, and operations (knowledge of public library services, operations, and collections preferred).

Benefits:

60hrs. Paid Time Off

Hiring Wage:

$30,550 - $36,660
 
Knowledge of budgetary planning and successful fiscal management (demonstrated fundraising and grant writing skills preferred).
Program and events planning experience (library programming experience preferred).
Understanding of the role and potential of technology and social media. (knowledge of applications specific to the delivery of library services preferred).
Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially in a Community Outreach / Educational capacity.
Successful completion of a background check.
