The Abbott Library is looking for a dynamic and creative individual to be our Public Services Librarian. We seek an enthusiastic innovator who is motivated to provide excellent, friendly and knowledgeable service to all library patrons. This position performs work to maintain the library’s online and marketing presence, is the point person on technology assistance and assists the Youth Services Librarian on youth programming and collection development.
Duties specific to the position include, but are not limited to, all aspects of technology assistance and education as it relates to both patrons and staff. The candidate will work with the director in identifying emerging technologies and in managing new technologies. This individual will manage and plan for the Library’s social media presence on platforms such as Facebook, X and Instagram as well as maintain the Library’s website and public and meeting room calendars. Youth services responsibilities include assisting and supporting the youth services librarian with programing, crafts, and displays as well as input on youth collection development and reader’s advisory.
Candidate must have basic computer skills and internet search skills.
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Equivalent library experience may be considered.
The Public Services Librarian is a full-time benefited position.
Paid according to the Town of Sunapee Labor Grade 10 (the hourly rate starts at $22.30, and depends on experience).
