Library Aide, Pinkerton Academy, Derry, NH

Profile of a Pinkerton Library Aide

A Pinkerton Library Aide's most important role is to support the library program. Library Aides work directly with students and Pinkerton community members, where they engage and support library users in academic and personal pursuits. The development of this culture allows students to make connections, foster a sense of belonging, and enhance their personal learning. Library Aides should be welcoming, patient, and reliable facilitators of the library space. Fostering a positive and supportive environment is essential to the academic and social-emotional development of our students.

As a member of a department and the school community, a Pinkerton Library Aide must display a collaborative attitude. Library Aide's participation in the creation of a positive atmosphere in the school community reinforces learning as a lifelong activity. The modeling of Pinkerton's goals of courtesy, respect, and responsibility can be demonstrated through our relationships with students, staff, and parents.
