The Belmont Public Library seeks a collaborative, community-focused, and forward-thinking Library Director to lead our town library into its next chapter. Belmont is a welcoming New Hampshire community of approximately 7,500 residents with a strong appreciation for public library service. The Library Director oversees all aspects of library operations, including administration, personnel management, budgeting, programming, and community outreach.
Position Overview
The Library Director is responsible for the leadership, management, and administration of the Belmont Public Library. This position works closely with the Library Board of Trustees, supervises a dedicated staff and ensures the delivery of high-quality services, collections, and programs that meet the needs of the community.
Minimum Qualifications:
• MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution preferred.
• Consideration may be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree and significant library experience.
• Experience in library administration, public services, or supervisory roles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of public library principles, policies, and trends.
• Familiarity with budgeting, personnel management, and library technology.
Benefits:
Full-time, exempt position. Some evenings and weekends required for programs or meetings.
