Blaisdell Memorial Library is seeking a friendly, dependable, and enthusiastic part-time Circulation Assistant. The schedule would include 15 - 20 hours per week, including nights and an occasional Saturday shift. We are looking to hire as soon as possible.
The ideal candidate will have prior library experience and enjoy working with patrons of all ages, including young children. This position plays a key role in providing excellent customer service and supporting the daily operations of the library.
Minimum requirements (training, skills, education, experience):
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable using computers and learning library systems.
Programming experience is preferred.
Assist patrons with checking in/out materials, renewing items and managing
accounts.
Keep our collection in order by shelving books and helping with displays.
Help with the processing of materials.
Ability to represent the library at professional and community meetings.
Some college coursework required; college degree preferred.
Due to the nature of the job’s tasks, candidates must be able to push and pull carts, do a moderate amount of bending, squatting, lifting (up to 40 pounds), stretching, and standing for an extended period.

Hiring Wage Range:
This position has a starting wage of $16.00 - $17.00 per hour.
