The Bedford Free Public Library is excited to welcome a Part-Time Reference Librarian to our team. This newly created position is ideal for someone who loves public service, feels confident with technology, and wants to contribute to shaping new and improved library services.
In this role, you'll provide friendly, knowledgeable service at the Reference Desk, help patrons navigate technology, provide readers' advisory services, and contribute to collection development through recommendations and evaluation. Reporting to the Head of Reference, you'll also collaborate with colleagues to support public-facing technology and digital literacy initiatives through individual and group instruction.

Schedule: 16.75 hours per week on average; Monday mornings, Wednesday evenings, all day Fridays. Two Saturdays per month (one full day, one four-hour shift). Optional Sundays at time-and-a-half.
Minimum requirements (training, skills, education, experience):
MLIS required (candidates considered)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Highly tech-savvy, curious, and public service-oriented
Good sense of humor a must

$38.85 - $49.86 /hour
