Adult Services Librarian, Seabrook Library, Seabrook, NH

Job Description:
Full-time position is responsible for adult services in the library, with minimal supervision. Reports directly to the Library Director.  
--Serve as the primary staff member responsible for Adult Services, including:
Provide support in person, on the phone and through e-mail to patrons seeking materials and information. Provide reader's advisory services.
--Assist patrons with digital media, computers, and other technology.
--Collection development and maintenance for adult fiction, nonfiction, large print and DVD  collections, executing monthly purchase selections and  annual deselection review.
--Planning and facilitation of adult programs, including the creation of promotional materials.
--Create and maintain timely and compelling displays of adult fiction, nonfiction and large print materials.
--Maintain thorough knowledge of library policies, procedures, and services.
--Assist with all aspects of the circulation desk, including ILL processing.
--Perform additional duties and other responsibilities as assigned by the Director.

Minimum requirements (training, skills, education, experience):

--Masters in Library and Information Sciences preferred. For the right candidate, Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution is acceptable, as is life experience in any customer-service-oriented industry.  
--Strong knowledge of the adult bibliographic universe, familiarity with current publishing trends and knowledge of grassroots resources for learning about popular titles. --Strong computer skills and the ability to assist and instruct others with technology. 
--Ability to smoothly plan and execute adult programing efforts, both passive and in-person. 
--Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a pleasant and approachable demeanor.

Benefits:
--40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, Saturday shifts every third week and occasional additional Saturdays, as needed.

Hiring Wage Range:

Salary range $39,500-$45,760, commensurate with experience.

Other Considerations/Requirements:
Physical requirements include ability to lift up to 40 pounds and ability to push and pull objects weighing up to 80 pounds on wheels.
