Circulation and Programming Assistant, Frost Free Library, Marlborough, New Hampshire

Frost Free Library, a public library and vibrant community hub located in Marlborough, New Hampshire, is seeking a reliable and customer service-oriented individual to join our team as a Circulation and Programming Assistant. This part-time position will play a crucial role in providing quality library services in our small rural community. 
 
Responsibilities: 

Circulation Desk: Provide excellent customer service to library patrons at the circulation desk. Stay up to date on the library’s current policies, procedures, and software such as our integrated library system Apollo. 

Customer Support: Assist library patrons in a variety of ways, including basic tech help, reader’s advisory, and provision of local information. Respectfully uphold the library’s Behavioral Policy should a difficult situation arise. 

Collections: Shelve books and other materials, process new items, create engaging displays, and assist with labeling, reorganization, and weeding projects. 

Programming: Take responsibility for 1-2 regularly reoccurring programs depending on skills/interests. (In the past this has been Game Night on Thursday nights.) 

Transport supplies and books up and down stairs to and from the upstairs storage area when necessary. 

A successful candidate will have: 

Passion for Community Services: Demonstrated enthusiasm for working with the public and providing high-quality, innovative services.  

Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in a customer service-oriented role is desirable. 

Excellent Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of patrons and staff. 

Reliability: Consistent and punctual attendance and ability to follow instructions accurately 

Technology Skills: Computer literacy and familiarity with commonly used office software is a must. Additional skills with social media and/or website management would also be beneficial. 

Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a small team and contribute to the overall success of the library. 

Background Check: Successful completion of a background check.

$16 per hour
