Brown Memorial Library in Bradford, New Hampshire seeks a dynamic Library Director. The position is for 26 hours per week and includes some evening and weekend hours.
Starts: August 2026 or before (depending on candidates’ availability).
Salary Range: $23.00-26.00 / Part-time
Position Duties:
• Assure the efficient functioning of the library’s day-to-day operations while maintaining a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
• Oversee library collection development across multiple formats.
• Maintain and enhance library technology systems and resources.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate programs and services for the community.
• Supervise library staff and make recommendations to the Board regarding their hiring and dismissal.
• Assist with the development and presentation of the annual budget, including making recommendations to the Board about capital expenditures, and assist the treasurer in preparing reports.
• Attend monthly Trustee Board meetings; provide monthly updates on library activities and participate in revision of library policy and budget as needed.
• Assist the Board in developing goals and objectives.
• Act as public spokesperson for the library and liaison with town officials and government agencies.
• Foster partnerships with schools and community organizations.
Qualifications:
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Bachelor's degree required, Master's in library science preferred
• Experience and skill in a wide range of library functions
• Conversant in technology and able to assist patrons
