Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist the school librarian and certified professional staff in the library to enable students to effectively use the instructional materials in the learning space.
Essential Job Functions
Help students find the right reference and instructional materials so they can make the most of the media center's resources.
Support students in improving skills like reading, language arts, math, computer use, and media literacy.
Assist with keeping the circulation desk running smoothly and maintaining circulation records.
Work one-on-one or with small groups to strengthen basic learning skills.
Set up and operate audiovisual equipment as needed.
Help organize and file learning materials, including cataloging new items.
Prepare, copy, and share educational materials to support lessons.
Comfortably lead both large and small groups of students during weekly activities and lessons.

Equipment
Assist in the utilization and maintenance of instructional and non-instructional equipment, including a personal computer if necessary.

Qualifications Profile
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
Prior experience working with children desirable.
