Are you a friendly, patient person who loves helping others? We're looking for a new Library Assistant to be the welcoming face of our modern, community-focused library. You'll play a key role in connecting people with the books, information, and resources they need.
What You'll Be Doing:
Engaging with Our Community: You'll be the first point of contact for our patrons, from helping a child find their next favorite book to assisting a senior with a digital device.
Keeping the Library Flowing: You'll handle everything from check-outs and returns to processing new materials and shelving books, ensuring the library runs smoothly for everyone. Including creating book displays and processing inter-library loans.
Supporting Learning and Discovery: You'll provide basic tech support for our public computers and offer reading recommendations that help patrons discover new stories.
Behind-the-Scenes Tasks: Attend staff meetings, process and repair materials, and help maintain a tidy and welcoming environment.
Who We're Looking For:
A college degree or equivalent professional experience.
Proficiency with modern technology and a fast learner.
Motivated, resourceful, and a confident problem-solver.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
Library experience is a plus, but not required—we're happy to train the right person.

Hiring Wage Range:
$16.50-$18.50 per hour depending on qualifications, experience and education.
Other Considerations/Requirements:
Schedule includes 2 evenings and 2 Saturdays each month, Mon 9-5, Tue & Th 11-7pm Sat 9-2pm (two a month)
Physical Requirements: This role involves standing for extended periods, as well as bending, squatting, and lifting up to 40 lbs. You should be able to push and pull carts and reach shelves at various heights.
