McArthur Library, located in Biddeford, Maine, is currently accepting applications for a full-time (37.5 hour/week) Technology Coordinator to join our team. We are a busy public library that serves a wide range of people in our community from our downtown location. We do a lot of hard work, but have a lot of fun, too!
The Technology Coordinator at McArthur Library manages and supports the library's technology for both staff and the public. This position oversees library hardware and software systems, coordinates service with external IT vendors, provides direct technology assistance to patrons, and supports technology needs for library programs and events. A unique and essential aspect of this role is that it combines technical work and public service. This includes regular service at the Reference Desk, assisting patrons with anything from research questions and reading/movie recommendations to printing and general library support. This position requires a strong comfort level with balancing behind-the-scenes technology management and public-facing service in a busy library environment. Ideally, it also includes leading programming and outreach efforts to connect technology services with the community at large. Patience and empathy are a must, but we certainly won't say not to a good sense of humor, too.
