Position Summary
The Baker Free Library is searching for a friendly, creative, and customer-oriented individual to join our Technical Services Team! Do you have experience cataloging? Are you tech savvy? Physical Requirements
This position requires the employee to perform cataloging and processing of books, which may include twisting and turning, lifting, kneeling, as well as dexterity movements.
 
Technology, Equipment, and Devices
This position requires proficiency with computers and commonly used office software, library systems, and databases. This position requires the employee to troubleshoot general office equipment and other technologies.
 
Schedule
This position will have a set schedule of 20 hours a week. 9am-1pm. This position will include one Saturday a month in rotation.

Hourly Pay
$16.00-$18.50 depending on qualification and experience.

Youth Services Programming Librarian, Samuel H. Wentworth Library, Sandwich, NH

Job Description: The Samuel H. Wentworth Library is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and organized individual who enjoys working with youth of all ages to create and run our youth programs. This is a 10 hour a week, part-time position that requires some availability after school (September to June), either a Thursday or Friday morning weekly, and one Saturday morning a month.

Minimum requirements (training, skills, education, experience):
●    A high school or GED degree is required. A college degree and/or coursework in elementary education or similar is preferred.
●    Experience working directly with youth is required.
●    Previous library experience or service is preferred.
●    Ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate judgment in handling information and records is essential.
●    Ability to communicate and interact courteously, tactfully and efficiently with people of all ages, abilities, temperaments and backgrounds is required.
●    Considerable ability to pay attention to detail is highly desirable.

Benefits:

Hiring Wage Range:
The hourly rate of pay is $20 an hour.

Other Considerations/Requirements:
●    Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs frequently, kneel, stoop to floor level, crouch - including working on the floor with lowest levels of bookshelves, and to reach and grasp with hands and arms often.
●    Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision and the ability to focus on both print and electronic text.
●    Required to lift on occasion, up to 25 pounds and to be able to push a cart of materials up to 75 pounds.
●    A familiarity with the ALA Freedom to Read Statement, ALA Library Bill of Rights, and ethical principles of librarianship and a willingness to learn NH library laws is preferred.
●    A commitment to participating in ongoing professional development, especially with regard to technology and youth is desirable.
●    A positive and collaborative personal workplace philosophy is essential.
●    Requires the ability to read and understand titles, call numbers and dates; sort accurately by alphabetical, numerical, chronological or Dewey Decimal order.

Library Assistants are members of a Library's support staff. Library Technical Assistant – Periodicals Supervisor, Geisel Library, Saint Anselm College, Manchester, NH
